Is anyone interested in the Parade of Community Gardens?

Dear Neighbor,

Please see the forwarded message below for information about a garden tour:

Celebrate the wealth and diversity of community gardens in the Twin Cities with the first annual Parade of Community Gardens! On Saturday, August 19th, community gardens throughout the Twin Cities will swing open their gates—to invite community members in to wander, observe, learn, and admire.

Commitments are starting to roll in! Why should your garden participate in the Parade? Simply put, the more gardens that participate the better it is for everyone. By participating you help not only your garden, but other community gardens.

What do gardens commit to when they participate in the Parade?

Commit by June 9, submit a description of your garden (a mere 100 words)
To have a good-looking and inviting garden on August 19th
Have fun – do something to celebrate your community garden
To have a representative in the garden who can answer questions about the garden
Promote the event with local media
Contact GardenWorks at 612-278-7123 or for the Parade planning packet.

See you in the garden,

Ila Duntemann
